For a Google Business Profile review, report a specific policy concern through the business profile or the Reviews Management Tool. Keep the case details, check its status and prepare an appeal only when the applicable route is offered. This guide helps Canadian businesses organize each step.

First, confirm which review you are handling

Copy the review URL and Business Profile URL. If there are several branches, record the city next to the listing. Save the text, star rating and date observed. This prevents a report about one branch from being mixed with another review or an outside platform.

A third-party rating displayed in a Google result is not automatically a Google-authored review. Check where the content originates. Our platform directory helps identify the relevant service; this guide concerns Google Business Profile review reports.

How to request a Google review removal

Open the review controls in your Business Profile, identify the review and select the reason that matches the issue. Submit the report and retain your reference. Google’s official guide also links the Reviews Management Tool for reporting and follow-up.

Before submission, write a concise case note with four fields: review URL, concern, relevant facts, and evidence location. This is a preparation format, not a promise that every reporting screen includes an evidence-upload field. Keep documents ready for a route that permits them.

For suspected fake engagement, avoid treating an unfamiliar name as proof. Use the evidence checker to organize the concern.

How to check Google review removal status

Use the Reviews Management Tool with the account connected to the affected business. Check the existing review report rather than assuming a delay means a refusal. Google currently lists these status labels:

Current status labels from Google’s reporting guide
StatusWhat to record in your case file
Decision pendingReport date and reference; the assessment is not complete
Report reviewed - no policy violationDecision date, stated outcome and whether an appeal is available
Escalated - check your email for updatesAppeal reference and decision correspondence; this label alone is not a removal confirmation

What to prepare for a one-time appeal

Google’s published process allows a one-time appeal of an eligible reviewed decision. Use the offered appeal route in the management tool and retain the resulting confirmation. An appealed case should be tracked separately from its initial report. Current appeal instructions.

Use this preparation outline, adapting it to the form that is offered:

Review URL: [exact link]
Decision being appealed: [date and wording]
Concern: [specific policy issue]
Relevant facts: [short explanation]
Supporting information: [what each document establishes]

Explain the connection between each fact and the disputed assessment. Keep relevant original evidence and omit unrelated customer, employee or account information. Do not invent a relationship or alter a screenshot to make the claim stronger.

How long does a Google review removal take?

There is no completion deadline attached to our service quote. Record the date of each step, monitor the existing case and distinguish the initial decision from an appeal outcome. Repeating a report is not proof that a case has advanced. Platform-wide moderation totals cannot predict the processing time of a Canadian business’s case.

Confirm the outcome before closing the case

Save the decision email or status message alongside the exact review. Separately record whether you can currently see the post on the correct profile. Temporary disappearance and an explicit removal decision are different observations. For uncertainty about visibility, see Google reviews not showing.

A simple case record has: profile, review, report date, decision, appeal reference, latest observed visibility and the date of that observation. For multiple reviews, keep separate rows so one result does not get applied to every post in the request.

A free case tracker for multiple reviews or locations

Download the ReviewRemoval case tracker (CSV). The file has column headings only: it contains no client data and no example outcomes. Open it in your spreadsheet application and keep one row per review. For several Canadian locations, use the city, province or territory, public profile URL and exact review URL to distinguish each case.

Record the platform decision separately from current visibility, and date both observations. Keep the original report reference when an appeal is available; an escalated status is not a removal confirmation. Use dates in YYYY-MM-DD format and keep private evidence in an appropriate secure location, rather than putting it into a shared tracking sheet. This blank template is an administrative aid, not measured removal data or a platform-generated case record.

Prefer our team to manage it?

Request Google review removal support with the public links and a short explanation. We handle assessment, report preparation and available follow-through. Pricing is CAD $50 upfront per review and $125 for each successfully removed review; our cost guide shows the full arithmetic.

For a direct demand for money linked to deleting negative reviews, use Google’s dedicated extortion guidance and preserve the communication. That case requires a different evidence record from an ordinary content disagreement.
